Gaffer's Reaction - Peterborough (H)
Speaking after the game Moore told Tranmere world:
'You're never happy when you only take a point, but we were playing a good side and it was never going to be easy. We were the better side until just before they scored. They hadn't had a kick - we'd done everything we planned to do…we just needed that second goal.
'Then it was a shocking goal to give away. For all the quality they've got, for them to get a goal like that was disappointing. Overall it was a fair result.
'They were always a threat. Our back four had to be on their toes because they're a counter attacking side.
'I can't fault the effort and the commitment. We needed a break and didn't get it. It was a stone wall penalty and he disallowed Bas' goal for a push by Gareth Edds, which I find astounding.
'Charlie took the goal really well. We changed the system a bit and he had more freedom. His goal was a brilliant finish which was worthy of winning any game.'
Meanwhile Posh Manager Darren Ferguson was delighted to see his side pick a point up at Prenton Park.
Ferguson told theposh.com:
'I thought we deserved a point from the game and we created enough chances to have won the game. Tranmere is a very difficult place to come, they have an excellent home record and we knew that we would be in for a tough evening, but I thought we played some good football at times.
'We didn't really get going in the first half an hour and that is why I made the tactical change by bringing Lee Frecklington on for Chris Whelpdale. We changed to a system that we have been working on and I am pleased we have an alternative to our normal formation that can be successful.
'We got more of the ball when we changed it, Lee showed some neat touches on the ball and we got the ball into some dangerous areas. They put us under a bit of pressure in the second period, but I felt we coped with the threat and I have to say that Joe Lewis was magnificent.
