McMahon Leaves By Mutual Consent

McMahon Leaves By Mutual Consent

Tranmere Rovers have today announced the departure of assistant manager John McMahon.

McMahon began his coaching career at Prenton Park as manager of our youth team and moved up to first team level under former manager Brian Little.

He then left to join Shrewsbury Town in the summer of 2006 before then taking in a spell at Liverpool as their reserve team manager.

He returned to us in 2011 and last season ended the campaign as caretaker manager for the second time following the departure of Ronnie Moore.

Chief Executive Jeremy Butler said to the Official Site about the news.

'Rob Edwards wants to make a change in his coaching department and that has led to us holding talks with John about his future. John is now looking for a new challenge and leaves this club with our gratitude for his efforts in his two spells. He has been a great servant, we wish John luck and fully expect to see him land a good job in the very near future.'

Current manager Edwards added that he had been very impressed with John's hard work and application since he came into the club and his coaching ability is there for all to see so he wishes him well for his next job.
