Tranmere 1-1 Bolton

Tranmere 1-1 Bolton

Following on from the tough draw against Everton, Tranmere backed it up with another creditable showing against Bolton Wanderers.

Striker and summer signing Eliot Richards scored his fourth goal of pre season from a close range header to pull Tranmere back onto level terms following Bolton taking the lead earlier in the game.

It was a decent showing from Tranmere, who did create a number of chances so the gaffer would've been pleased with what he saw.

Manager Rob Edwards said following the game.

'It was a good game. It started a bit slowly and a bit cagey but it really opened up and was a good work out. We switched things around in terms of who played to give everyone a chance and I was pleased with how we did.'

Edwards goes on to say that he was pleased with the organisation we had out of possession, and he was delighted to see the players come of the bench and have the impact he wanted them to, and as well as seeing a good difference in our fitness levels now, he also believes the players are starting to make better decisions in possession and our overall play is starting to improve.
