We Need To Be Moore Nasty

Manager Ronnie Moore has said that Tranmere are being too nice this season and we need to develop more of a nasty streak in our play.

Speaking to the Official Site following our recent loss to Notts County, Ronnie said we have to develop a nasty streak if we hope to improve our form, and of course we will be looking to bounce back in the second round of the Capital One Cup on Wednesday against Premiership Stoke.

'We're playing as individuals at the moment. Things are going against us and we've got to work a lot harder. If we get back to doing the right thing...that's getting out there, chasing, harrying and stopping people playing.'

If is the big word at the moment with our current run of form and Stoke is certainly not going to be an easy way to try and get a result to bounce back from the County disappointment, but Moore adds that at the moment we haven't got an aggressive midfielder at the club and he's looking for somebody to really try and stamp their mark on matches for us. Stop being nice, and get in there and break things up.

Although Moore obviously caveats that by saying he's not looking for a raft of bookings with players running around like headless chickens kicking everybody they pass, he wants controlled aggression from them all so we aren't so lacklustre.

As for the Stoke game, Moore confirmed he would be resting Ian Goodison and we'll also still be missing Jason Koumas, Andy Robinson, James Wallace and Jake Kirby through injury.
