Passionless First Half
Ronnie Moore has admitted that we were very poor against Notts County today in our two nil loss to them at Meadow Lane.
County took an early lead in the game, and Tranmere just couldn't muster enough to get back into the match, and all hopes were dashed about 10 minutes before full time as the Midlands club grabbed their second.
Speaking to the Official Site after he regained his composure the manager admitted it simply wasn't good enough again from the squad, and he felt we were devoid of any passion in the first half, even when we went behind - there just wasn't the reaction from them that he would've expected to see.
'It's an early goal again. They've come out guns blazing like we knew they would, we conceded a goal from a cross again and the second was the same.'
Moore says that County found it too easy to get in behind us, and even though we had a fantastic opportunity to get level again, such is our luck at the moment that we hit the woodwork.
Speaking more about the first half he said the players talk a good game in training, but they just aren't doing enough when it comes to the actual 90 minutes of a game. We basically allowed County to dominate and run us ragged for the first 30 minutes before we even tried to get back into the match.
He even admits that he had a go at them at halftime, but it's something he shouldn't have to be doing every single game and that's how it feels at the moment, it takes until half time and a bit of a rollicking before the players roll their sleeves up and actually perform close to what he knows they are capable of doing.
As again, he thought we were much better in the second half and the killer second goal was against the run of play in his eyes, but it's too little too late again from them.
He'll no doubt be hoping we start our next match differently.
