'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Three Trialists Remain

Ronnie Moore has revealed that only three trialists remain at the club this week following the games at the weekend.

Nine trialists figured in the games against Rhyl and Marine, but the majority have now left.

Speaking to the Official Site the manager explained.

'We let a few go after the game on Saturday and we've kept James Rowe, Shaun Jeffers and Leon McSweeney. We'll have another look at them this week. Rowe is very similar to Max Power, he has good energy and he sees the pass. We'll probably make a decision on them after the game at Accrington.'

Moore adds that the Altrincham game could see the first appearance of the summer for Ian Goodison and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro.

'Goodison will be back later today and should be available for the game tomorrow. He's normally back the day before the season kicks off! I can't remember him having a pre season, he's just a naturally fit guy. He's 40 years old so you don't want to run the legs off him. Fonners has a hamstring injury and Jean-Louis has had a thigh strain. Jean-Louis is fit to train this morning and should be ok for tomorrow.'

We also will welcome Inter Milan striker Bocar Djumo to training this week.

'He's costing us nothing and he's here for a month for us to look at and if we fancy him we can take him until the end of the season or until January. He's a left footed striker who can also play wide on the left. We've got nothing to lose, and maybe an awful lot to gain.'
