The first arrival at Prenton Park this summer has been secured with Ben Burgess joining Tranmere after leaving Notts Country.
Burgess helped Cheltenham to the league two play-off final last season before returning to Notts County who have let the 30-year-old go after a couple of years with them.
Officially Burgess, who has much experience and is well travelled, will join Rovers at the start of next month on a two-year contract.
Ronnie Moore, as he told the official website, is pleased with his capture and hopes this will be the 'first of many new faces' the club bring in this summer: 'he's big and strong and has an impressive strike rate for a target man.
'He'll lead the line for us, he'll cause defenders problems and he'll create chances for others.
'I watched him a few times for Cheltenham and Notts County at the end of the season and he did really well.
'Ben is the first of many new faces we'll have this summer and hopefully we'll have some more over the next few days and weeks.'
The striker has experience at various levels and his arrival will be a boost to Tranmere I would have though, although are you happy with Burgess' arrival?
